Hi. I’m Chad Olivier, CEO and certified planner with Olivier Group. It’s tax time and this is when being organized really pays off. This is the time of year to start gathering all of your w twos, ten ninety nines, and any other tax related forms.

And honestly, this shouldn’t be a big surprise. Taxes come around every year, so a little preparation can save you a lot of stress. Here’s a simple system. Make a list of every form you’re expecting and keep a single folder, physical or digital, where everything goes as it comes in.

That way you’re not scrambling at the last minute trying to figure out what’s missing. And remember this important point, even if you file an extension, you still have to pay what you owe by April fifteenth. An extension gives you more time to file the paperwork, but not more time to pay the tax. Also, you make quarterly estimated tax payments, your next payment is also due on April fifteenth, So make sure that it’s on your radar.

At this point, there’s usually not much you can do to change last year’s taxes with one main exception. If you’re eligible, you may still be able to make an IRA contribution for twenty twenty five up to the allowable limits, and that can potentially help your tax situation. The big takeaway, a little organization can save you time, money, and headaches later. If you’re not sure you’re doing this the most efficient way, one of our certified financial planners can help you stay on track, And that’s why money talks, but planning pays.
