Hi. I’m Chad Olivier, certified financial planner and CEO with Olivier Group. Today, let’s talk about how to become a more confident and informed investor. It’s easier than you might think.

First, be proactive. Don’t just glance at your statements. Review If something doesn’t make sense, ask your advisor. It’s your money, and you deserve to understand it.

Second, work with the right advisor, and stay involved in your planning. Don’t be afraid to speak up about your goals, your questions, and your concerns.

Next, do a little homework on the companies you invest in. Public companies are required to share financial information, and you’ll be surprised on what you can learn by just looking at the basic metrics like the PE ratio or listening to shareholder updates.

Also, know what you own. Every investment has features, some come with more risk, some are more conservative.

Make sure you understand the pros and cons so you’re comfortable on what’s in your portfolio.

Then, every so often, check-in on your progress.

Ask, are these investments helping me reach my goals? Can I access the money if I need it? It’s also a good idea to keep records of your financial moves. They’ll help at tax time and give you a clearer picture over time.

And finally, don’t let your emotions drive your decisions. Stay focused on the long game. It’s consistency that builds wealth, not reacting to every headline. A certified financial planner can help guide you through all of this.
